Sox the Riveter.
$450..
Oils. 24”X32”
This is a portrait of my dog,
Sox that was originally painted for a SPCA fundraiser show at the Mill Brook
Gallery in Concord. When I began the portrait, the expression on my dog’s face
conjured up the attitude of Rosie The Riveter by Norman Rockwell. So, I put his
face on her body. I learned that Norman Rockwell got this gesture from a figure
in Michaelangelo’s Sistine Chapel painting. He added the rivet gun. I don’t
feel too bad about copying.
